This project explores the intimate dynamics within my friend group and the space we collectively inhabit. The house we share is more than a building; it reflects our relationships, each carving our distinct spaces. This is a representation of our individualities- our personal belongings, routines, and places of solace. These images are a window into how we navigate our lives together, the moments that make up the fabric of our friendship - as it is in this moment. It’s a visual narrative of four lives, intertwined within one home, each of us on our journey of self-discovery, while still sharing a common ground.
But combining lives isn’t as simple as it might seem. Especially when those lives are tangled in the messy, sometimes overwhelming process of navigating adulthood. The house becomes an epicenter of the growth and challenges we face together—moments of joy and triumph, but also the weight of pressure, conflict, and vulnerability. We aren’t just sharing a roof; we’re sharing our fears, dreams, and the complex emotions that come with finding our footing in this stage of life.
The tension between comfort and uncertainty is ever-present in this space. There is a delicate balance of coexisting as both individuals and a collective. We navigate differing habits, emotional baggage, and the inevitable growing pains of living together. Despite the conflicts and struggles, this collection of photographs reveals the undeniable truth that this shared space and experiences bind us together and the journey we’re all on. Amid uncertainty, the one certainty we can rely on is that we will always have each other to lean on. I hope we always remember the good times in this stage of life we shared and how we grew up together.
